One of the most beautiful houses of Athens Attikon Cinema was burned today

Description:
The two-storey building located on Stadium 19-21, at the junction with Chris Ladas (then St. George), is a product of several successive phases.The original building was constructed eclectic between the years 1870-1881, based on plans by architect Ernst Ziller (1837-1923), on behalf of Chian banker Stamatiou Dekozi Vouros (1792-1881). In 1900 there housed the pharmacy of S. Put (referred to as early as 1891), the barbershop L. Muses and the shop "China types" of P. Georgiadis, and in 1914 hosted a recently established between the Ministry of Economy .Between 1914-1920 there was a significant intervention in style "neo-baroque" when built in a part of the cinema building "Attikon", on a design by architect Alexander Nikoloudi (1874-1944), one of the first uses of reinforced concrete.


In 1930, the renovated building now, recorded (except for the "Attic"), the groceries I Zachariou and S. Alexander, the florist Agalioti Angelo, shop & Porcelain Crystal L. Lemontzoglou The delegation Papaspyrou typewriter, the offices of the construction firm "first", the "Local Railways Macedonia" and "Wine and spirits company." He later created and the second movie theater "Apollo" in the basement of the building, moved its offices "Skouras Films' shops and E. Zolotas, Germany. Prince and «Studio Costa Boda» (1982).


At times the building was subject to various procedures and deterioration.In 1960 the brothers Angelo and Grigoriadou Agalioti certain repairs took leave from Urban Athens, and in 1982 made general maintenance and restoration (under study by the architect J. Christakopoulou).
